Air Supply – 1 bit Run feat. Gravonaut

Fellow indie developer Quantum Sheep has created a new runner game called “Air Supply – 1 bit Run” for iOS devices. Rather than me hacking up his description, here are the exact details:

“*** Your AIR is running out! ***

Ambushed on a standard trade journey between Lave and Diso, Spaceman Sam is shot down by pirates!

Now, stranded on an alien Moon, Sam must run for his life, avoiding meteorites, fearsome UFOs and enemies such as robots, aliens, and Space Monkey Zombie Pirate Cyborgs(!), hoping in vain to stay alive long enough to be rescued!”

As you can see in the red part of the game, Gravonaut is an unlockable character amongst others from the indie community. Dr. Giganaut is even featured as a the attacking enemy in his U.F.O. We worked with Quantum Sheep to get the graphics to Gravonaut’s style, still has that 8 bit charm.

The game is not quite released yet, only a little ways away from final release but considering their respectful record of creating quality titles, you can expect Air Supply – 1 bit Run to be a blast! Be sure to buy it on release, mean time check out the Quantum Sheep website for more great games.

Update 1.2.1 Now Available

As the title states, Gravonaut 1.2.1 is now available and fixes the errors that the 1.2.0 update caused with some users game. We do apologize for the bugs in the previous update and now they have been all vanquished. Now enjoy the big update as it was meant to be.

The update is available in the App Store update section.

It’s OK, We Fixed It!

As you guys know, we recently released Gravonaut version 1.2 to the masses as a free update. All went well, it was approved, went live, and users downloaded it. Today when we were chipping away on Gravonaut HD, which just so happens to have the same content as version 1.2, it also had the bugs. When we took notice, we immediately jumped back to the iPhone version to correct our mistakes.

What the error was is part of the implementation of the new VIRTUALNAUT suit. The game works fine on all levels except the boss fights, the problem occured after we tested the new suit on the boss fights when we were working on streamlining the suit system. It breaks the character completely where Gravonaut cannot move and the new suit was not displaying correctly. This is a game breaking bug that stops the user from progressing.

I am very happy to say the bugs have been solved and has been tested extensively to ensure it is indeed fixed amongst other little bugs that we have corrected due to the new update. Version 1.2.1 is already submitted to Apple and is waiting to be approved.

We would like to apologize to those who may be experiencing the errors, this was something overlooked on our end. The new patch has all the new content so we do recommend waiting for version 1.2.1 if you wish to play the campaign mode completely. We tried to solve the issue as fast as possible, now it is in the hands of Apple, hopefully released to all you guys and gals end of this week.

Gravonaut HD is getting closer everyday to completion, taking a tad longer than expected, especially on the boss fights (so much to scale over) but it will be done sooner than later and has all the lovely content featured in Gravonaut 1.2. Stay tuned to the blog and Twitter for more information.

Down With The Sickness

Once a year, it seems my immune system decides to take a vacation, this year it decided to leave during our cold Canadian winter, leaving me frail and sickly, fending on my own like a cub in front of a hungry pack of wolves. The past few days (and continuing) have been hitting me hard, but never the less, I continue to work! Somehow I summoned the power to finally finished the Gravonaut patch 1.2 update, yes, it is done and now relies in the hands of Apple. If all goes as planned, it should be out on Valentines day, shows how much we love you guys, d’aww. I’ll be posting the release notes when the update is released, I put lots of new content and fixes that should please you.

The other day, we also picked up an iPad to test Gravonaut HD, let me say, as nice as it is, you do not realize how much you’ve spent until you check your bank account. Regardless we need it and I want to make sure that we are releasing a game that actually works on the hardware and was not tested on simulators on the Mac. Speaking of Mac, the Mac version will require the most modifications to meet Apple’s requirements, but shouldn’t be an issue.

Due to my surprise illness, production has been going… slow. My goal was to have it submitted yesterday when in fact, it will not be till far later, sorry DIYGamer. I plan to do a major burn to get it done, so far it looks rather sexy but still needs some HD polish. Early next week I’ll put some screenshots up to show it’s HD glory.

Until then… I must rest, sooner this evil menace of a flu is gone, the sooner I can fully work and not daze off.

Gravonaut HD & Other Rambles

I know it has been a bit since the last update, but I bring good news! Today I would like to announce that we will be bringing Gravonaut to iPad and to the Mac! This will be a direct port with slight modifications that best suit each respective platform and will feature all the new content in the iPhone version (1.2) that we will be releasing shortly. We will be releasing it under the name “Gravonaut HD”, an app store tradition you can say. The graphics look great in HD, some minor changes have to be made to fit the higher resolution, but not much. The Mac version will be the most modified of the new versions, we will offer a few control schemes for users. The iPad version will be a native app, taking advantage of the large screen. This is something we’ve been working on as a little side project, porting is nearly complete and submission of the apps will be very soon. Gravonaut HD will be available on the iPad App Store and the Mac App Store.

As a side note, we are still working on Gravonaut 1.2 update, trust us it is worth the wait, a slew of new features and content, free to all Gravonauters. The update will be submitted very soon!

In studio news,we have cleaned up and reopened our online shop to buy sweet Nexus merch. We added a sexy new 8 bit Gravonaut shirt as well as versions of the shirts for women. Click the shirt icon at the top right of the site.

In other news we are still seeking a local C# programmer that is willing to work with us on our new projects. If you want to work with a dedicated team like us, check out the article here.
